Isn’t it funny how washing carrot in the river is as fun or even funner than having one’s nose in an ipad playing angry birds?
Contrary to the stigma that people living in country side are less knowledgeable and lead more monotonous lives than those in big city, my home-stay experience in this Taiwan farm tells me otherwise.
For instance, they know how to create natural fertilizer (non-chemical) which can produce same amount of harvest, even better in quality than industrial chemical ones.
また、”simplicity is the essence of happiness”ということわざがあります。
Living in country side does not mean living in traditional way. We still enjoy the privilege of having internet connection though limited.
But exactly because of those limitations, we learn to enjoy the simplicity of life- living side by side with nature; the kind of life city people do not have the privilege to enjoy.
I think that this experience is trully an eye- opener of how farming is not a menial low- class work, but a noble job.
Remember that they are the ones who provide us food. I am really thankful for this opportunity!
