Today we had a late start to the day as our official activities didn’t start until 1:00pm. We ended up going shopping at about 11:00 and came back just before 1:00 meaning that we missed lunch.
Our first activity was glueing the Shōji onto the door frames to use in the inn. We quickly got into the mood and ended up finishing very early so we were able to eat lunch which was cup noodles that were left by the previous customers of Anchor inn.
After that, at 4:00pm, we went to the harbour to help stuff Golden eye snappers into boxes for the people we were helping to sell all around Japan. We took extra care to not damage any of the goods as they were to sell to customers. All of us thought that the amount of fish we had to stuff was a lot, however we were later told that it was less than usual and that was why we were able to leave early(?) which was about two hours later. As a reward, the chief worker gave us three whole plates of sashimi which ended up being our dinner.
After helping at the harbour, we took a bit of a walk around it and ended up seeing a manta ray, sea turtles and many fish. We payed our respects to the harbour shrine and walked over to one of the island’s main two shrines where we also payed our respects.
After that was dinner which was some delicious sashimi. We had bought ice cream (I got Häagen-Dazs) and were looking forward to eating it but ended up not.
After dinner, we went to the beach to play with some handheld fireworks which were very beautiful.
All in all, today was a very work heavy (?) day but we were greatly rewarded for our work which we were all grateful for.
