観光だけでは分からない、台湾の「日常」を知ることができました。日本では体験できない魅力が溢れています。元気で本当に優しい台湾人にたくさん出会いました。

そして食について考えるきっかけになった10日間でした。自然農法でできた野菜は味が濃くおいしかったです。これからはきちんと考えて料理したいと意気込んで日本に帰りました。

自然農法についての知識が０で参加しましたが、農業、食について考えさせる部分が多くあり、自分が今まで自分の身体や食に対して無関心だったのか痛感させられました。

このボランティアを通じて、日本でより食や農業について学ぼうという意欲に繋がりました。

台湾のことをもっと知るために観光もお楽しみください。ボランティア活動のある日は、活動終了後の自由時間に。休日は遠くまで足を伸ばしてみましょう。

幸福農荘から台北市内までは1時間ほどなので、慣れれば気軽に台北観光ができるようになります。

なお、観光地での交通費や食費は参加費とは別になりますが、だからこそ自分で切符を買ったり、中国語で食べ物を注文する楽しみがあります！

旅行もしたいし、どうせなら社会貢献したいという学生の卒業旅行にもおすすめです。

現在、皆がスマートフォンを持ち歩き、沢山の情報を目にする機会が増えました。

そのため、正しい情報と間違った情報が混ざり合い、真実が何なのか判断するのが難しくなっています。

島おこしインターンで現地に赴き、体験を通して、今この地域には何が必要なのか、強みや魅力は何なのかを肌で感じることで、目で見た情報よりも更に知ることができると思いました。

インターン生からのメッセージ

日本で自然農法を学び、台北の郊外淡水で自然農法を実践するご夫婦。

お子様は5人いらっしゃるのですが、そのうちの1人がアトピーになってしまったことをキッカケに、自然農法を始められたそうです。

現在は、自然農法を地元の方に教える農業教室を開いたり、東南アジアの留学生の受け入れをしたり、自然農法に関する書籍を執筆されています。

日本語の堪能なお二人がボランティアでやってくる皆さんを暖かくお迎えしてくださいます。

はじめまして、池田冴子と申します。一緒に淡水という地で自然農法を学び行いましょう！

皆さんは、台湾に行ったことがありますか?

台湾は日本の隣国ですが、意外なことに台湾と日本の間には国交がありません。さらに、第二次世界大戦前までは台湾は日本に統治されていたのですが、このことを知る人は多くはありません。

しかし、東日本大震災の際の多額の義援金や、格安航空会社の就航などにより、近年はこれまでにも増して、日本人にとって身近な国になってきたのではないでしょうか?

さて、台湾と言えば屋台!　というイメージが強いかもしれませんが、もちろん台湾の魅力はグルメだけではありません。

南国ならではのリゾート的な気候、一方で富士山よりも高い山が連なる中央山脈の大自然、積極的に政治に参加する若者たち、日本やオランダ統治時代から遺される美しい建築物、台湾原住民の伝統文化…。挙げていけば切りが有りませんが、特に若者が集まる街の屋台は魅力的ですね!　…って、結局グルメの話になっちゃいました。

さて、そんな台湾の首都と言えばご存じ「台北」ですね。この台北から電車で40分、バスで30分ほどの場所に、自然農法を実践されているご家族の「幸福農荘」があります。

自然農法とは何でしょうか?　その名の通り自然に農業をすることです。

皆さんの農業のイメージはどのようなものでしょうか?　自然と共生した産業というイメージがありませんか？

しかし、実際は雨が降らなければ水をやり、雨が多ければハウスの中に入れ、大きく成長しなければ肥料を撒きますし、雑草を駆除するために除草剤を使ったりもします。つまり、現代農業は自然との共生どころか、自然に逆らって作物を育てているのです。

最近流行の有機農業はどうでしょうか?　一言で説明すると化学肥料や化学農薬を使わない農業です。

しかし、これも栄養をあげたり、雑草を抜いたり、害虫を駆除したりするので、やはり自然に逆らっている側面がまったく無いとは言えません。

そこで、自然農法です。これは、作物をまったく自然の状態にして作物を育てようという方法です。ですから、自然農法をされている方の畑に行くと、素人にはどこにどんな野菜があるのか見当もつきません。

雑草は生え放題ですし、土も耕さずに植える場合が多いので、作物はあまり大きくはならず、作物は草むらのなかにあるような印象です。しかし、そこに自然破壊は有りませんし、作物はそれでも育つのです。

また、自然農法で育てた作物は外敵からの免疫力が強く、また味が濃くなるという特徴などがあります。

もちろん、自然農法に限らず、農法は人によって異なるのでここで説明した内容が全てではありません。しかし一般論として上記のような特性が有ります。

このように、自然農法には慣行農法や有機農法とは異なる特徴と魅力があるため、新たに自然農法にチャレンジする農家は少なくありません。

ですが、自然農法では収量が少ないため産業としては成り立ちにくく、また周辺農家の反発があることも多く、実際に自然農法を実践するには大きな壁が有ります。

したがって、本格的な自然農法を実践されている方にはなかなか出会うことができません。

今回、台北付近で自然農法をされている幸福農荘の方にお会いでき、こうしてECOFFのボランティア活動を実施できるのは奇跡のように思えます。

なぜなら、幸福農荘の方々は台北近郊で自然農法をされているだけではなく、日本語と英語も堪能なのです。

海外でのボランティア活動で大きな障害となるのが、現地までの交通と言葉の壁です。これら2つを克服し、日本では味わえない経験をできる村おこしボランティア【台湾淡水コース】は、その他のボランティアとは比較にならない学びを得られること間違いありません。

海外でのボランティアには不安なこともたくさんあるかもしれません。しかし、その分得られるものも大きなものです！

私は台湾に行く前はすごく不安で、締め切りのギリギリまで悩みました。

7日め：堆肥作りと料理作りに分かれて作業。英語と中国語で他のボランティアさんとも交流。
8日め：雨の日はお餅作りやピクルス作りなど。
9日め：ボランティア活動最終日！　レイさんから認定証を受け取り感無量。

10日め（午前中）：
宿泊施設清掃後、MRT淡水駅にて解散・帰国

現地で事故や災害、事件があった場合、海外旅行保険に加入していないと莫大な治療費を請求されることがございます。必ず、ご自身で海外旅行保険に加入してからご出発ください。もちろん、有事の際には現場のスタッフが可能な範囲で対応いたします。

特別な持ち物は、軍手・作業着・長靴の3点セットです。なお、これらの物は現地で購入することもできますし、作業内容によっては不要な場合もございます。ですが、無いと作業ができない場合があるため、出発前か現地で早めに準備するようにしましょう。

おすすめの軍手：100円ショップや現地で購入できますが、手のひら前面にゴムが貼られているタイプがオススメです。

おすすめの長靴：折りたたんでコンパクトにできる長靴をオススメしています。

おすすめの作業着：作業着は、特別に買わなくてもジャージなど、動きやすくて汚れてもいいものであれば何でも大丈夫です。

パスポート：ビザは不要ですが、出国日までの有効期限が必要で、滞在期間は90泊91日以内です。

出発までに、パソコンかスマートフォンからオリエンテーションを受けてください。また、オリエンテーションを修了したうえで疑問点や不安なことがございましたら、インターネット経由で個別相談を承ります。

なお、ベトナムコースのみ現地世話人との事前オリエンテーションがございます。

日程が確定している場合は、ウェブからのお申し込み後、参加費をご入金し、ECOFFから申し込み完了メールを受け取り次第、現地までの交通（航空券など）の手配をしてください。特にECOFFからの資料を待つ必要はありません。

なお、お申し込み時に「仮日程」となっている場合は、日程が変更される可能性がございますので、日程確定後の手配をオススメいたします。

また、天候などの理由で交通機関が遅延・欠航となる場合がございますので、そうした際にはチケット交換ができるものを購入されることをおすすめしています。

ボランティア内容は、主に農作業や行事のお手伝いですが、事前に決まっていない場合がございます。

現地の方々は、その時の天候や現地の状況によってその都度その都度、毎日の作業を決めています。そのため、お申し込みの段階では具体的なスケジュールはなく、活動の直前になっても決まっていない場合がほとんどです。

細かいスケジュールが事前に決まっていないと最初は不安かもしれません。しかし現地の状況は、あなたが家にいる間も次々に変化しています。

予定を立てた時とは違う状況で、無理やりスケジュール通りのことをして何の意味があるのでしょうか？　一番不安なことは、あなたが無意味なボランティアをしてしまうことなのです。

そこで、村おこしボランティアのスケジュールは、現地世話人の方々がその場その場で決めています。

だからこそ、村おこしボランティアでは村の人が本当に必要としているお手伝いをして社会貢献ができ、現地の人と同じライフスタイルを通じて「田舎時間」を体験できるのです。

スケジュールの決まっている安心感と、スケジュールの決まっていないワクワク感。どちらがあなたと地域にとって大切か、少し考えてみればわかるはずです。

プログラム期間が終了した後も滞在したい場合は、現地の宿泊所や民宿等にご相談ください。なお、プログラム終了後に発生した問題や利害に関しECOFFは一切関与致しませんので、ご自身の自己責任の範囲でお過ごしください。

また、保険は期間終了後は無効となりますので、十分ご注意ください。

基本的には、自炊です。

食材は現地世話人が準備します。食材は一般的な食事を調理できるもの（米・麺類・野菜類・各種調味料等）を用意していますが、内容は時期や参加人数によって異なりますのでご了承ください。

その場の知恵でオイシイ料理をつくる。それも島暮らしの醍醐味です。なお、参加者が複数いる場合、皆さんで自炊をお願いしています。時々、現地の方から食材をもらえたり、お食事をごちそうになることもあるかもしれません。

ほとんどのコースは最初の2.3日はギクシャクするものの、それ以降はすっかり仲良しになっています。

なお、お申し込み時に「仮日程」となっている場合は、日程が変更される可能性がございますので、日程確定後の手配をオススメいたします。

本プログラムは規定の期間に参加されることに意味のあるプログラムです。

プログラム終了後すぐに帰宅される場合：キャスター付きのスーツケース等
プログラム終了後にご旅行する場合：バックパック等
お荷物が少ない場合：ボストンバッグ

をおすすめしていますが、車で宿泊施設まで行けないことも多くございますので、お持ちの方はバックパックが無難です。

しかしながら、バックパックは中の荷物を取り出しにくいため、その点も考慮してご自身でお好みのものをお選びください。

必ず、ECOFFスタッフよりLINEグループにご招待いたしますので、それまでご心配せずにお待ちください。

なお、ご出発日の2週間前になってもLINEグループの招待がない場合は、恐れ入りますがお問い合わせください。

細かいスケジュールが事前に決まっていないと最初は不安かもしれません。しかし現地の状況は、あなたが家にいる間も次々に変化しています。

そこで、村おこしボランティアのスケジュールは、現地世話人の方々がその場その場で決めています。

また、保険は期間終了後は無効となりますので、十分ご注意ください。

お仕事をされている方は1週間以上のお休みを取るのが難しいため、参加者のほとんどが大学生です。

他の参加者もあなたと同じように一人で不安です。ですから、みんな同じような状況なのですぐに仲良くなれるはず。

ほとんどのコースは最初の2.3日はギクシャクするものの、それ以降はすっかり仲良しになっています。

ご心配せず、ぜひ参加して他の参加者の方とボランティア活動と共同生活をお楽しみください。

ECOFFのボランティアは、18歳以上の方（高校生は不可）のみ参加可能となっておりますが、どうしても参加したいという場合はまずご相談ください。

また、高校生であっても高校卒業後から大学入学前の期間であれば参加可能です。

ただし、高校生はご自身で交通の手配や、事務局との連絡ができる方に限らせていただきます。

若い気持ちがあり、体力にも自信のある方はぜひご参加下さい。

ですが、あくまでも学生向けのプログラムとなりますので、他の参加者の多くは学生となります。

その他の参加者と行動や意見を合わせられない方や、体力に自信のない方のご参加はご遠慮ください。

お一人での参加も、お友達同士の参加も歓迎です。

着払いにてお送りいたしますので、お受け取りの際にお支払いください。

終了日は変わらずに日程を短縮して実施いたします。不要になった費用が発生した場合、現地にてご返金いたします。
